When a charging station is replaced, its charging station ID must also be updated in the ChargePilot® Dashboard to ensure proper communication between ChargePilot® and the charging station via OCPP. Follow these steps to complete the replacement process:
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Replacing the Charging Station
- Replace the old charging station with the new one.
- Open the settings in the ChargePilot® Dashboard, select your site and update the charging station ID for the corresponding station by selecting the tab “Site Setup” and clicking on the old charging station.
- Set the desired fallback value for the new charging station. If no fallback value is set, the default value will apply: 6 A for AC charging stations, 32 A for DC charging stations
- Save the changes.
- The new charging station should come online in the ChargePilot® Dashboard within 5 minutes and be ready for use.
If the new charging station does not come online:
- Restart the charging station by tripping the corresponding fuse.
- If the station remains offline, restart the ChargePilot® Controller by tripping its fuse.
Step 2: Contact TMH Support
Contact The Mobility House (TMH) Support at helpdesk@mobilityhouse.com with the following information:
- Old charging station ID
- New charging station ID
- Site name (or serial number of the ChargePilot® Controller)
TMH Support will update the charging station ID in the internal error notification system.
Important: Without this information, error notifications for the new charging station will remain inactive until the charging station ID is updated internally.
Step 3: Additional Step for ABB AC Stations with Plug&Charge:
For ABB AC stations with Plug&Charge functionality: Ensure that the new, individual Plug&Charge RFID tag of the new station is stored in the RFID management section to enable Plug&Charge.
