Before starting the configuration, please check the charger firmware version complies with the latest compatible firmware version.

Connection to the charger

Local connection

Connect to the charger web interface

  1. Direct connection to the charger via hotspot

    1. Connect your laptop directly with the charger provided hotspot under the hotspot SSID (by default charger serial number/chargerId)

    2. Open your web browser and type in the hotspot URL http://172.16.0.1 and enter the hotspot password

  2. Indirect connection to the charger via a DHCP server

    1. Connect your Ethernet cable to the router which is also connected to the charger and the DHCP server

    2. Open your web browser and type in the charger IP-address

For the first connection/commissioning, you will land on an installation wizard page.

For already commissioned charger you can navigate to the page System Installation Recommission to start the commissioining process

For already commissioned charger 

Network settings

Ethernet

On the Network page configure the parameters as follows:

  • IP mode: Automatic

  • DNS mode: Automatic

Load Management settings

On the General Installation page configure the parameters as follows:

  • Enable group load balancing: No

  • Enable dynamic load balancing: No

  • Enable solar charging: No

  • Enable household limit: No

OCPP settings

On the Authorization page configure the parameters as follows:

Backend

  • Authorization: Managed

  • Backoffice: ChargePilot (mDNS)

  • OCPP Backend URL: wss://chargepilot.local/socket/ocpp/v16

NTP Server

Expand the advanced settings and configure the parameters as follows (if missing):

  • NTP server 1: chargepilot.local

  • NTP server 2: ptbtimer1.ptb.de or 172.22.0.1

 

On the last settings page, click Finish & restart.
