My ID Was Not Recognized – What Can I Do?

Modified on Wed, 8 Jan at 9:32 AM

If your ID was not recognized and charging didn’t start, follow these steps to identify and resolve the issue:

Step 1: Find the Charging Station ID

  1. Go to the Home Dashboard.
  2. Locate the ID of the charging station where the ID failed to work.
  3. Copy the charging station ID (Ctrl + C).

Step 2: Check the OCPP Logs

  1. Navigate to the OCPP Logs.
  2. Select the site where the ID failed to initiate a charging session.

Step 3: Search for the Authorize Action

  1. Use the search function in the OCPP Logs and look for the action “Authorize.” This represents the OCPP request sent to authorize a charging session.
  2. Refine your search by adding the charging station ID copied from the Home Dashboard.
  3. Use the date filter to narrow down the timeframe to when the charging session failed.

Step 4: Review the Log Message

  1. Click on the relevant “Authorize” log entry corresponding to the time of the failed session.
  2. Check the response from the charging station in the OCPP log file: If the ID was not accepted, the response will show a status of “Invalid.”

Note: A status of “Invalid” means the ID was not authorized to charge at that station at the given time.

Step 5: Activate the ID

  1. Go to the RFID Management section.
  2. Register the ID for the relevant site.
  3. Copy the id_tag directly from the “Authorize” log message and paste it into the ID registration form.
