Overview
The Depot Map provides a real-time, visual overview of your transit depot, allowing you to monitor vehicles, charging points, and overall charging status at a glance. It is designed to support daily operations by helping teams quickly understand readiness, identify issues, and coordinate actions across dispatch, operations, and maintenance.
ℹ️ This guide covers the viewer experience only. Map creation is handled internally.
1. Accessing the Depot Map
Open ChargePilot.
From the left-hand navigation, select Depot map under the Dashboard section.
The map will load automatically for the selected depot.
ℹ️ Multi-site is not selected, you must select a single site.2. Depot Map Layout
Main Map Area
The central area displays a visual layout of your depot, including:
Parking rows and bays
Buses positioned at charging points
Charging points (you can find the charging station on hover)
Buildings or fixed infrastructure (e.g., office)
Each bus and charging point is represented as a simplified block to prioritize clarity and fast scanning.
Depot Overview Panel (Right Side)
The Depot overview panel summarizes charger activity across the depot:
Total charging points
Available
Plugged in
Charging
Faulted
Offline, unknown, unavailable
This panel updates in near real time and provides a quick operational snapshot.
Vehicle Status Legend
The legend explains color and icon indicators used on the map. Use it to quickly interpret vehicle readiness and charger health.
? Green: 66–100% State of Charge (SOC)
? Yellow: 46–65% SOC
? Orange: 0–45% SOC
? Blue: Occupied AC charging point
⚡ Charging: Actively charging
⚠️ Error: Fault or issue detected
ℹ️ Offline / Unknown / Unavailable : The charging point is not currently usable or its status cannot be confirmed. This includes cases where the charger is offline and not communicating, the system has not received recent status information, or the charger is temporarily out of service for non-fault reasons.
3. Navigating the Map
Pan: Click and drag (or finger-drag on mobile) to move around the map.
Zoom: Use the + / – controls or pinch/scroll to zoom in and out for more detail or a broader view.
4. Viewing Details
Hover/tap for Details
Desktop: Hover over a bus or charging point
Mobile/Tablet: Tap on a bus or charging point
A tooltip will appear showing information such as:
Vehicle ID
Current status (e.g., Charging, Available)
Connected charging point
Charging station ID
Current State of Charge (SOC)
This allows you to inspect individual assets without leaving the map.
5. Vehicle Details Table
Below the map, the Vehicle details table provides a structured list view of all vehicles in the depot.
Columns include:
ID Name – Vehicle identifier
Status – Available, Charging, etc.
Connected charging point
SOC – Current state of charge
Required SOC – Target charge level
Features:
Search: Use the search bar to find a vehicle by ID or name
Sort: Click column headers to sort by status, SOC, or charger
The table stays in sync with the map and is useful for more detailed reviews or dispatch planning.
6. Typical Viewer Use Cases
Check which vehicles are ready for pull-out
Identify vehicles at risk due to low SOC or errors
Spot faulted or offline chargers quickly
Get a shared, visual understanding of depot status across teams
Support shift handovers and operational briefings
7. Limitations (Viewer Role)
As a viewer, you:
❌ Can't edit the map layout
❌ Can't add or move chargers or vehicles
❌ Can't start or stop charging sessions
If you need additional map details, layout updates, or feature access, please contact your customer service agent.
8. Support
If data appears missing, incorrect, or outdated:
Refresh the page (force refresh cmd-shft-r(⌘⇧R))
Confirm the correct depot is selected
Contact your customer service agent for assistance
Editor User Manual
Overview
The Depot Map Editor allows authorized users to create and manage the visual layout of a depot. This includes placing charging infrastructure, controllers, meters, and visual references such as buildings, shapes, and labels. The goal is to produce a clear, accurate map that supports operational visibility for all viewers.
ℹ️ information - Multi-site is not selected, you must select a single site - Once saved, the map is available in read-only mode to all users with this site access.
1. Accessing Edit Mode
Navigate to Depot map from the left-hand menu.
Select the desired depot or site.
Click Add map (or Edit map, if a map already exists).
The Edit depot map view opens.
Use Save to publish changes or Cancel to exit without saving.
2. Editor Layout Overview
Add Assets Panel (Left)
Use this panel to add infrastructure and visual elements to the map.
Asset categories include:
Charging points – Individual charging point locations
Local controllers – On-site controllers
Meters – Electrical meters
Shapes and labels – Visual and descriptive elements
Each category shows:
Assets added
Assets remaining to place
Map Canvas (Center)
The canvas is your working area where all assets are placed and arranged.
Assets appear as draggable blocks
Rows and spacing represent the depot layout
Visual alignment is manual and flexible
Site Information (Top Right)
Displays the site name for the map being edited to ensure you are working in the correct depot.
3. Adding and Placing Assets
Charging Points
Expand Charging point in the Add assets panel.
Click the “+” icon to add a charging point from the list.
Drag to position it correctly within the depot layout.
Click the “-” in the left panel to remove it from the map (or cmd-del(⌘+del))
ℹ️ Information
- The list of assets is automatically populated from the site configuration.
- Each charging point can be placed only once.
- Only existing charging points can be added.
- Adding all charging points is not mandatory.
- You may click on the charging point name in the left panel to highlight it in the map.
Local Controllers & Meters
Follow the same steps as charging points. Adding all local controllers & meters is not mandatory:
Select the asset type.
Click the “+” to add it on the canvas.
Click and drag to position it.
Click the “-” in the left panel to remove it from the map (or cmd-del(⌘+del))
4. Shapes and Labels
Shapes and labels are used to provide visual context to situate items and improve readability.
Available Tools
Text (T) – Add labels (e.g., “Office”, “Row A”)
Rectangle, Circle, Triangle – Represent buildings or zones
Editing Shapes
Click add shape
Select shape to add to canvas
Drag to move
Use handles to resize or rotate
Click the “-” in the left panel to remove it from the map (or cmd-del(⌘+del))
Shapes do not affect system logic and are purely visual.
5. Selecting, Moving, and Adjusting Assets
Select: Click an asset to select it
Move: Drag to reposition
Resize (shapes only): Use corner handles
Reposition carefully: Ensure assets visually match the physical depot layout
There is no automatic snapping; alignment is manual.
6. Saving and Publishing
Click Save to publish the map
Saved maps are immediately available in viewer mode
Unsaved changes are discarded if you click Cancel
⚠️ Attention - If multiple users are in edit mode on the same site, the last Save will override the others. You can’t view their edits in edit mode. - There is no autosave. Save frequently.
7. Limitations & Notes
Asset quantities are predefined by the site configuration and can’t be exceeded
Assets can't be duplicated (shapes can be added multiple times but not by copying/duplicating)
No version history or undo after save
Editing access is restricted to authorized users only
